The Turning Point

I
I stopped working in BPO in 2016, not because I didn't want to deal with irate customers but because I thought, after staying in BPO for almost 14 years (4 years doing outbound sales, 10 years in technical support/customer service), I owe it to myself to reinvent and take things to the next level.
The first few months of course was a struggle. Anybody from the real-estate industry and project selling knows that commission for reservation sale won't be payable until down-payment is fully paid -- which of course takes up to 24 months depending on the developer.
It's a good thing I have jewelries, perfumes, bags and what have you to get me going everyday. At one point, I told myself to get back employed in call center to get my finances back on track.
Then 2017 came. Oh, 2017 came with a bang. Just in the first 12 days of the year, I was able to close 3.5M worth of project in affiliated subdivisions. But wait, I have 5 house and lot deal waiting to be closed in the next few days. These are ready-for-occupancy (RFO) houses. That means that my 3% commission would be due and payable the moment the deal is closed depending on which mode-of-payment the clients opts.
These clients -- to be honest -- are not my friends or within my network. They just happened to stumble upon my post which they see on their friends' feeds. They decided to contact me and we talked about their house and lot acquisition plan. My phone call logs show numbers from UK, Saudi Arabia, US, Hongkong and even places down under like New Zealand and Australia. I never saw it coming. But with the rate things are going, I'm up into becoming a well-consulted property specialist in the weeks to come.
And while scribbling this note, another client from Scotland call signifying interest to acquire a house and lot in Bacolod City. Oh my, "Thank you very much Lord for the overflowing blessings. Hopefully this continues in the next few weeks and months. I am beginning to enjoy this job, not because of the financial rewards it brings but for the opportunity to be a part of my clients' pursuit in acquiring the property they would eventually call "HOME".
